In 1960, Énergir inaugurated its first training centre dedicated to the gas technology education. Several years later, the school was named École de technologie gazière (ETG) and focused on all educational activities related to the natural gas workforce.
In 1993, the School received its accreditation from le ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, which recognized its official status as a private educational centre. This certification has permitted the development of programs which will lead to an attestation d’études collégiales (AEC) and an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP).
Throughout the years, the ETG has developed a unique expertise in the exploitation and upkeep of gas networks as well as expertise with regards to natural gas equipment. The School now offers a full range of programs adapted to the gas industry as a whole. Its courses are now offered to diverse clienteles and meet the specific needs of students, businesses and public safety workers.
